Transportation Director Adam Lokstad and Principal Julie Aas presented bus safety to students in Viking Elementary this morning.
Viking School Kitchen is in operation. It received new cabinets, new three place sink, new dishwasher in addition to new flooring. The update really opened up the kitchen area. There will be some finishing touches before final completion. The front office addition is receiving doors and windows this week. The truck with windows arrived this morning.
Viking Elementary 2nd grade students enjoyed one last recess on the Viking playground. Next year they will be moving on to 3rd grade in Newfolden Elementary. We wish them the best!

Viking Elementary's Spring Program is scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, May 5th. The Kindergarten program "Our Animal Friends" will begin at 1:00. The 1st and 2nd grade program "How Does your Garden Groove" will begin at 1:45. Both programs will be held in the gymnasium at Viking Elementary.

Preschool/Head Start registration will be held tomorrow (Tuesday 5/2) afternoon from 2:45 to 6:30 p.m. at Viking Elementary. Please bring all completed registration forms anytime during this Open House. If you have not received paperwork in the mail, we will have all the forms available at the school. Parents will have a chance to meet the Preschool/Head Start teachers and tour the classroom if you would like. Teachers will also be available to answer any questions you may have at this time. Tonight's Touch a Truck Event is postponed due to cold and rain expected. We are looking to reschedule the event for Thursday May 11.

Reminder: Muffins for Moms will be held at Viking Elementary starting at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow (3/31) morning. Students are welcome to come and have a muffin breakfast with 1 special adult (Mom, Grandma, Aunt, etc.). This will be an open house with the classrooms and cafeteria open for breakfast from 8:00-9:00. For those of you who are meeting your child/grandchild off the bus, just a reminder that the bus arrives at Viking Elementary at approximately 8:20.
Last month, Viking Elementary Second graders were visited by the Viking/Newfolden Lions Club. They gave each student a Magic Tree House book in honor of "I Love to Read Month." We are so thankful for this generous gift!
