Dear Families,
Earlier today, MCC School District staff were informed that a student posted a video on social media that included a threat against our schools. Per our threat assessment protocol, we immediately contacted local law enforcement.
The Marshall County Sheriff's Department has investigated the incident. At this time, the sheriff's office and administration believe there is no credibility to the threat.
The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority, and we take threats such as this very seriously. We are grateful for the local authorities' quick response and great partnership.
To help keep our schools safe, please encourage your child to make good choices and come forward when they see things that may threaten safety of others. We are thankful for students who came forward today to report the potential safety concern.
It’s with your help and support that we are able to help all our students and staff maintain a safe environment.
Thank you for your attention to this important communication. Please do not hesitate to contact me at 218-874-8530 or jlund@mccfreeze.org.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey Lund
Superintendent

MCC Families -
We had a stop arm violation on our second of school.
No one was hurt as driver was cautious and had not let children out yet.
This particular violation happened on Greenwood Street in Thief River Falls.
Our stops along highway 32 also have had several violations over the years.
Please use caution and prepare to stop when you see yellow flashing lights on our school bus. Never pass a school bus once its stop arms are out. A car must stop and leave at least 20 feet of space between their vehicle and the bus.
We have stop arm cameras on our bus. We shared the footage from incident along with details of car and plate number with the state patrol.
Our children are priceless. Please be attentive on the road, especially around our school buses.

A new bus #13 joined the fleet today, our first day of school!!
This bus is a 2025 Bluebird 77 passenger replacing the old #13, a 2009 Thomas 71 passenger bus. We traded in the Thomas bus.
The Thomas Bus #13 finished its time at MCC with 203,565 miles.
