MCC Families - We had a stop arm violation on our second of school. No one was hurt as driver was cautious and had not let children out yet. This particular violation happened on Greenwood Street in Thief River Falls. Our stops along highway 32 also have had several violations over the years. Please use caution and prepare to stop when you see yellow flashing lights on our school bus. Never pass a school bus once its stop arms are out. A car must stop and leave at least 20 feet of space between their vehicle and the bus. We have stop arm cameras on our bus. We shared the footage from incident along with details of car and plate number with the state patrol. Our children are priceless. Please be attentive on the road, especially around our school buses.

MCC Families: Reminder for the first day of school: MCC High School: If you plan to drop off your child, please utilize the parent drop off lane in our new east parking lot off second street. Do not utilize the bus loop. Use the north entrance to the parking lot, follow traffic through the lane. Drop off child and exit from the south exit. If you are picking up your child please pull into pick up lane and park in line with other cars. If that fills up, please park in the lot and wait. Newfolden Elementary: Please drop off your child at the west entrance. Follow buses. Do not pass buses as they use their stop arms when dropping off. Please do not drop children off at the crosswalk between schools. When picking up your child, please park along the street and come out and meet your child. Walk back together with your child. Viking Elementary: Please park and walk your child to the entrance. Do not park along the east side of the school as we reserve that space for our buses. When picking up, please park and walk up and wait for your child. Walk together back to your car. We are so excited to see all the kids and welcome them back to school. Thank you for helping us keep safety in mind with drop offs and pickups! Thank you!!
