Construction Progress Viking (9-26): Northwest Roofing was there doing some work joining the new addition roof to the existing building roof. Last week, cabinets arrived and were installed in office work area. Forks Lath and Plaster and Specialty systems were doing some exterior work on Office Addition today. Painters are next inside and then more finishing work in the offices to come.
Construction Progress - HS (9/26/2023):
Today steel workers are busy placing the roof beams for the high school gym. Gordon Construction is completing curbing on the east parking lot. Labine Electric placed all the light poles in high school loop and NE parking lot. H & S concrete set up foundation for concrete floor.

Bus Route Change Tonight:
The Bear Bus and the Cat bus route will be combined tonight due to being short a bus driver. Please note students may come home at a later time than their normal time due to the change.

Construction Progress @ Viking:
Viking front entry recently had doors and glass installed. The second picture shows inside of Sarah's office area. It's almost ready for paint. The music room addition is getting prepared for brick work. The inside framing has started. In the next couple weeks we'll see painting of the office addition area, cabinetry installation, and flooring work. In the music addition area we'll see sheetrock go up inside and brick going up on the outside.
Building Project Progress @ MCC High School (September 20)
There is and will be a lot of action on the construction site the next couple of weeks. Gym walls are mostly in place. Steel for roof will be installed soon. The east classroom addition passed plumbing inspection. Plans are to pour concrete floor next. Footings are being installed for the cafeteria commons. East parking lot is getting prepared for curbing/pavement as well.
We usually do not share promotions, but this one helps a little fellow in our community. If you are planning to purchase any pizzas this weekend, take a look at this as some proceeds will go towards Eli's cancer fight.

It is a busy morning at the high school construction site. Wells Concrete is here unloading and installing the precast walls for the gym/commons addition. On the east side of the building, H & S Concrete continue work on the classroom addition footings.
Due to bus driver shortage tonight, the Bear Route and Cat Route will be combined. Please be aware some students on these routes will arrive home later than expected due to this change.

Tuesday, September 5th is first day of school for our Kindergarten to Grade 12 students.
- When dropping off at Newfolden, please follow buses around school and drop students off at the west door.
- When dropping off at the High School for school or Viking Shuttles, also follow buses.
- At Viking, please use the South Entrance as main entrance is closed due to construction.
- Allow extra time. Parking is limited. Watch for our school buses.

MCC High School and Elementary Schools will be open Monday through Thursday the last week of August (August 28-31) to help with you back to school needs. Hours are from 8 am to 3:30 p.m. We'll also be open during the Back to School night Tuesday.
The offices are closed Friday, September 1st and Monday, September 4.
Reminder: Welcome Back Open Houses will be held at each school next Wednesday, August 30. Viking and Newfolden Elementary will be from 4:30 to 6:30. MCC High School will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m with 7th grade orientation at 5:30 p.m.
